Membership Overview
Regular Member
An individual who meets one of the following conditions, is recommended by a regular member of KPA, and finally approved by the council:
- One who has a bachelor’s degree in the field of urban and regional planning and has been engaged in the planning profession;
- One who has a minimum of 10 years working experience in the field of urban and regional planning; or
- One who is considered to have the status equivalent to one of the above conditions.
Lifetime membership would be granted to a regular member who pays the lifetime membership fee as below.
Associate Members
A college student who is majoring in urban and regional planning, urban design, recommended by a regular member of KPA, and finally approved by the council.

- Payment of Membership Fee (using the KPA electronic payment system)
- Approval of Membership Application
- Completion of Application

- Subscription to Urban Information Service (monthly) and Journal of Korea Planning Association (7 issues per year) (limited only to the subscribers)
- Discounted registration fees for conferences, seminars and forums
- Invitation to conferences, seminars and forums
- Support for hosting conferences and conducting research
- Consulting with urban and regional planning
- Submission of journal papers to Journal of Korea Planning Association (associate member can submit a paper as a co-author, not a first or corresponding author)
- Online access to various documents and data
- Acquisition of printed proceedings of conferences, seminars and forums (on demand)
