Board of Directors

KPA is governed by its Board of Directors, who are elected from among the membership of the Association. The Board is chaired by the President, and sets broad policy for the Association and governs its affairs. Day-to-day operations are managed by KPA staffs. Board members serve two-year terms. KPA's Board has 5 members, as well as 24 Advisors, who are the elected presidents in the past.

Hong Bae Kim

President of KPA, dean of graduate school of urban studies and professor of the department of urban planning and engineering at Hanyang University. He has primary responsibility for the long-term strategic direction of the association, in concert with elected leadership. He is responsible for representing the leadership of the association, its members and the interests of planning with partners and with the public.

Chang-Mu Jung

Vice president of academic department of KPA and a professor in the department of urban planning in the college of engineering at Seoul National University. He has overall responsibility for the KPA academic activities including national and international planning conferences and numerous seminars, symposiums and meetings throughout the year. Additionally, the department is responsible for KPA's publications such as monthly and bi-monthly journals and textbooks for university students.

Kyun-Soo Kim

Vice president of operation department and professor of the department of urban planning & real estate at Dankook University. He is responsible for all administrative roles of the association. This includes membership, marketing and all financial related matters.

Jin-Sang Cho

Vice president of local chapters in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyungnam regions, professor of Dongshin University.

Wun-Soo Back

Vice president of the department of industry and academia relations in KPA, president of Mirae Engineering and Design Co., LTD.
